I went with 1/8 stainless for my motor plates and end plates. I asked our plater about the 6105 alloy. Said it will plate ok but the color may be spotty.

I'm ordering all new v rail for my rebuild. The 350mm of my so1 just isn't big enough. I'm thinking of getting the rail nituff coated and machining brass or olite bronze vwheels. Has this been done before?

Made one collet today. Runout is little under .005 still have to check spindle to see if it's any better or if that's what it's going to be. I'll keep this post updated.

there should be almost no measurable play in the bearing themselves. maybe .0005" tops.

im switching to the dual x axis makerslide. i read about bolting them together ect. would there be any issue with just tig welding the two pieces together. i have no problem making custom spacers or whatever.

i was going to use the belt anchors built into the end plates. is that a good idea?
