Re: Pre-Shapeoko #XXXX Build Log

You can have any arrangement of motors that you want, but it is probably a good idea to have matched motors for the dual Y and X. A NEMA 17 motor should be fine on the Z axis. The NEMA 23 motors are just bigger and usually more powerful but not necessarily better. I think that starting this week th...

Re: Pre-Shapeoko #XXXX Build Log

Your BOM looks pretty good but I see a couple of things... You are planing on ordering my NEMA 23 kit for the Z axis but you are ordering NEMA 17 motors. Looks like you need to either order NEMA 23 motors and you will also need some 1/4" toothed pulleys or you don't need the NEMA 23 kit. What is th...

Re: Shapeoko #0735, mods evolution... (at least my version)

wlanfox, your machine is brillant! I aspire to get close as possible to what you have. From the beginning, I am wanted exactly what you have for the table as I have first seen that in another router/cnc called the AnnieRouter. Ever since then after stumbling on the Shapeoko, I was not seeing any pic...

Re: 800x1000 with supported rail and rack & pinion

Hello All, I don't even have my ShapeOko yet... I am torn apart about this x-axis and the plate in front and behind... I am trying to see if there is a way to avoid that and have some sort of table top with tie downs like the MakeSlides offer on some other builds. i have seen some other x-plates on ...
