Re: 4 X's Stepper Shield

I have done the test with the optocoupler, a 6N139, and the test was great.
Here is a photo form the test with a serial LCD screen:

I will test this tomorrow if we have these components.

Re: 4 X's Stepper Shield

I made a new design of with just one PCB. It consists of the optocouplers in combination the FTDI board you can buy ad ebay. It's the same module used by Godsplan. The schematic: All in One_sch.png The PCB: All in One_brd.png And the 3D image from SketchUp. Made possible by EagleUp. All in One_3D.pn...

Re: 4 X's Stepper Shield

I think rs-online. Normaly I don't order them. My college does this. Search for 36way header. You can select different sizes.

The stacking headers can be found by http://www.Iprototype.nl, https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10007 or https://www.adafruit.com/products/85.
In between there are long male headers.

Re: Owen's Electronics Enclosure

Thanks, I orderd them for my system. The nice thing aboud those connectors are that the shroud can handle the grounding for the motors. Just peel the shield back over the cable and close the female connector. On the other side use a amp ring connector for connection to the male chassis connector. Le...

Re: 4 X's Stepper Shield

That looks good! Although, personally, I'm not a fan of stacking stuff like that. I'd rather have the drivers on an airy, spacious board, with connectors arranged logically around the edges, and a shield on top of the Arduino for harnessing the connections, with little or no logic on it. :) I did t...

Re: 4 X's Stepper Shield

I have made a prototype my self. And it works perfectly with GRBL v0.8. Here is a photo of version 1.0: 2013-03-06 12.25.57.jpg Version 1.0 had some issues that the screw connectors where to close to the drivers. And the connection of the +5v and Vmot screw connectors where not the same. V1.1: The t...
