I would suggest getting the full step mode working first before you play around with mirco steps as mirco steps are “fake” poles on the stator (coils). You will also need to set your current limit on the A4988 because with a low current limit set on the A4988 there may not be enough current thought ...

The cable is fine as your only using it at very low voltages/amps

Sorry but I think you are having some finger trouble going on with your meter. To measure Amps you need to have the test leads on your meter connected to "COM" and "A"(with motors moving / motor lock on) or "mA" (with motors still / motor lock off), then theses leads need to be connected in series w...

Personally I find it more user friendly to have my communication between the PC and ShapeOko wireless.
