Not accepting switch type setting ($ST)

I enter $st=1 for normally closed and the console returns a zero (0) as the current setting.

All the other settings I've made seem to be responding properly. What should I do?

Re: How to Update settings?

Has someone posted this file for TinyG/ShapeOko (2) configuration?

Manually entering 70-100 parameters to get it started is a bit of a chore.

My bearing measured dead on.

Re: What tap for eShapeOko MakerSlide?

Yes it might gall, but if you turn backwards to break the swarf and work slowly and with a sharp cutter it will get there eventually. Just make sure to use a cutting tap (or know what you are doing and use a forming tap with cutting fluid after drilling out the hole to the correct (larger) size for...

Re: Y belt idlers constraining X axis

He's not talking about the belt anchors. The motor plate is hitting the idler pulley. Do you have the X axis makerslide all the way up at the top of the slots where it's bolted to the Y axis motor plates? There doesn't seem to be any going up or down on that. See the attachment below. I think WillA...

Y belt idlers constraining X axis

I've run into something that I wanted to check before moving on. It seems the idlers for the Y belts limit the motion of the X carriage. Unless I've done something wrong, it seems if the motor mount plates were about five millimeters taller, you'd get almost 40mm wider working width, the X motor mou...

Re: What tap for eShapeOko MakerSlide?

You need something that will take pressure well. Butter will do at a push, a dab of grease too. 3-in-1 is quite fine. Sending out tiny bottles of cutting fluid would cost a fortune, as well as all the leakage issues. Plus, it is aluminium. It will cut anyway! Eh, aluminum has a good chance of galli...

Re: Flanged ball bearing will not fit the Z-axis motor mount

Just to close the loop here: The OD of the bearing is 22mm. The ID of the bearing hole is 22.25mm. Tolerance for the laser is (roughly) +/- .02mm - .10mm. The thickness of the powder coat is .08mm to .127mm. If all is well, then it's a slip fit. If the laser cuts the hole on the small side, and the...

Re: nema 23

OK, so I take it you don't feel it's limiting.

You're concerned about the extra weight of the motor, but have people found it to be an actual problem, rather than an untested concern?

Re: nema 23

I am putting together a list if items to buy for a new Oko 2. I have some spare NEMA 17s, but if there's a benefit to NEMA 23, I'm willing to get them. Should I put off the 23's, after I get a feel for the performance when using 17's? I'm curious how much of a difference in performance people see on...
