So now that I have your attention =) I have a few workflows for all my different makerstuff 3D Printing OpenSCAD --> Cura 2D CNC Router Inkscape/Photoshop --> Vetric vCarve --> Carbide Motion 3D CNC routing don't really do this yet but I would image it would be OpenSCAD --> Vetric vCarve --> Carbide...

Re: Mechanism Atlas .pdf

Pretty neat. This could be a lot more useful if they put the various springs/actuators in the pictures too. Would be great to to build a little class out of this for kids to explain how things like car windows, recliners, etc worked. I just picked up a set of Makeblocks for my kiddo and plan to use ...

Re: Cheap Chinese Lasers (CCL)

So I figured it's time to permanently pipe this thing in. I figure even If I sell this one I'll still need the exhaust system for the next one. So the $1M question is what fan to use? I have been using my dust collector but I would really like something smaller that I can hang on the wall. Any sugge...

Re: The sky is the limit!

Ha got it! I have built the gillows one before and it flys like crap. Just do the tissue covering and do a rubber band glider. Since you have a laser cutter cheap to fix when you crash it.

Re: The sky is the limit!

Post them up!

I was thinking P-51 (as everyone builds those) but tail section is wrong. Then P-40 Warhawks, but if the wings give it away then it's a F4 Corsair.

Are you cutting this out of balsa? Planing to 3d print cowling and such?

Re: 185 oz. Steppers on SO3

If you are really concerned about the disconnection issues I would buy the one from Carbide and buy the PMDX and sell the carbide board. I bet you could get 50-100 for it or keep it for other machines like a fancy eggbot or something =) I have faith that Edward and team is figuring out the connectio...

Re: Cheap Chinese Lasers (CCL)

What is your work flow? Vcarve to ?? I tried vcarve-svg to incscape-wmf to laserdrw3 it works ok but sizes are not correct. I did change from pixels to mm in Incscape. I think size has something to do with laserdrw3 in their "drawing workspace". If it's a file I have downloaded and I am just trying...

Re: Cheap Chinese Lasers (CCL)

Is your laser converted to ramps 1.4? Nope my plan was use this for a little while and sell it local and buy the 1500 one that comes with a dsp,z table and air asist. Just wanted to see if i would use it first. I have a better understanding of the components now so i'll probably sell it in a few we...

Re: Cheap Chinese Lasers (CCL)

Third I believe I can use Vetric vcarve for vectors. I dont want to learn a different CAD program if I dont HAVE to, be it incscape or illustrator or..... Any suggestions are welcome. Ever since I got Vetric I agree 100% I love that program so easy to do stuff in. I do have to go to inkscape here a...

Re: Cheap Chinese Lasers (CCL)

One other thing to check is that the lens is in correctly. The convex or dome side faces up. The concave side or indented side faces down. The focus distance is 5 cm. Yep i found the problem. I was checking just to doubly be sure (i did have it in the right way) and i noticed this https://uploads.t...
