Re: SO3 won't reconnect to computer
Wow... Massive thumbs up to Carbide3D support. Jorge responded today saying they'd send out a replacement board, and shortly after that email I got a shipping confirmation for a new board, I'm blown away. This is how you keep customers coming back! Thanks Will, I really appreciate the help from you ...

Re: SO3 won't reconnect to computer
yeah ok, that makes sense. I've spent the morning trying to get my computer to find the arduino.. without any luck. I have downloaded the latest Arduino IDE and Xloader, and the NOMAD 883 HEX file. I cannot get the software to recognise an Arduino has been connected. I have tried different USB cable...

Re: SO3 won't reconnect to computer
Thanks Will, That gives me some good starting points - much appreciated.
Do you think the USB disconnect issue could cause the corruption in the Arduino?

SO3 won't reconnect to computer
Hi guys, I've had my SO3 running fairly well for the last 3-4 months, It has been disconnecting 1 in every 5 jobs - I believe due to interference, I've tried separate circuits, UPS systems with filters, all to no avail. Today it disconnected mid job, and will not reconnect. I have been using BCNC, a...

Re: My Shapeoko 3 build, enclosure and dust shoe project
Your enclosure looks great! very slick. I tried every type of brush I could find (in Australia...choice is also limited) and ended up going with a foam mousepad cut into 250mmx75mm strips, cut about 60mm through every 10mm, the result is awesome, easily the best material I've found. It needs to be v...

Re: What am I doing wrong cutting aluminum?
After breaking a few 1/8 bits and giving up on that size, I ended up settling on: 3 flute1/4" End Mill at 600mm\min, 200mm\min plunge, around 14,000rpm, 0.2mm DOC, and achieved great results in 1/2" 6061 aluminium. I got an awesome finish, and good looking chips. I'll start pushing harder to see whe...

I'm also leaning towards the CNCRouterparts PRO 4848, that thing is a beast!
I love my Shapeoko3, but I'm ready for a bigger work area...the clock is ticking on this upgrade!

Re: Z-Azis Catching
I had the exact same problem, it ended up bein the same issue that milton described. Think I may have found the cause of the catch in my machine. The head of bolt for the stationary pulley was running into the head of the bolt of the lower right x-axis motor mount. Moved the left z-axis rail as far ...

Re: Shapeoko 3 Z-Axis stepper skipping
Thanks for the response guys, however I have proven it is neither the belt slipping or the toothed gear spinning on the shaft: I slackened off the z-axis belt and when I hold the toothed pulley on the motor shaft it still slips, that eliminates the belt tension (I also used a flat head screwdriver t...
