Wouldn't that be an amazing sight? (emphasis mine)

I followed the build instructions, it was really enjoyable.

I did it over a couple of weekends, overnight is possible but you won't enjoy the process.

Things that usually go wrong (at least for me):
- Slack belts, this shows up prominently when you try to carve a circle (you'll get an oval)
- Incorrect stepper wiring, shows up as reversed rotational direction
- Loose stepper wiring connection, shows up as a groaning sound
- Don't be surprised if the provided rotary tool wobbles, or otherwise unusable, use a cheap Dremel or a Harbor Freight clone tool instead until you feel comfortable upgrading to a trim router.

I have followed the instructions to the letter.....I did the works kit with the quiet cut spindle......just wanted to see if there was anything i should be prepared for....Hand on the kill switch kind of thing.....Started on it friday evening.....Have about 15 minutes of wiring to finish and it will be done....

Nice setup! The "ShapeOko 2" hello world pen drawing was uneventful for me.

You'll want to inspect it closely to see that it printed well. If not post a picture and somebody will likely spot the issue.

Yes, be ready to stop the machine obviously.

Depending on how you work with dimensions and script that you ran, you might want to return the configuration back to what you like.

The hello world script come in 2 versions, inch and mm. I like to work in mm, so I ran the mm version. If I ran the inches version, I'd have to return it to mm by typing in the G21 command.

Running the mm script while the machine is configured as inches makes for wild axis movements :-) Conversely makes for a very tiny carving.

Is the motor supply connected and plugged in? Do you measure 24 V at the supply terminals? Do any LEDs turn on on the gShield? Which? Do the motors make any kind of noise? and so on.

When you type in $$ <enter> using UGS, does it return a list of setting numbers?
