Simple & cheap clamping of workpieces

For most pieces I use pin 23gauge pin nails of various lengths, 1/2,3/4 and 1 inch. They hold well and save come time. If I have thin material that bows I can find a place where it does not cut and secure it. If do hit a nail it does very little damage. Also use tongue depressors to raise the work piece up to get a good through cut of material.
