Interesting that you didn't include the Shapeoko 3 in your comparison image:

I thought about it long and hard and was going to, but I feel that out of respect for Edward and the Shapeoko brand I'd leave it out of any head to head comparisons.

We're off to a great start. 39% funded on our first day, we're even a "staff pick" from Kickstarter so I hope this means good things to come. Thanks for all the support everyone! :)

Hey everyone! We reached our goal and we're currently 115% funded. :) We still have 3 weeks left so hopefully we blow past our goal. I'd like to thank this community for fostering growth, new ideas, and innovation. This project wouldn't even exist without this forum and you guys have motivated me to stick with it and see it through to it's potential.

I'll keep you guys updated as always.

Best,
Louis

No. Look in Kisckstater : HD with Electronics Package - The Routakit HD mechanical kit, professional grade electronics kit (does not include spindle)....

Thanks for your interest. :) The smallest spindle that I recommend for the HD would be a 1.5kw, though a 2.2kw or 3.0kw spindle is recommended to get the most out of the machine. Our HD is currently using a 3.0kw spindle with great results.

Like-wise the SD can handle up to a 1.5kw spindle, though I recommend adding additional v-wheels and doubling up the gantry for that setup to maintain overall rigidity, especially if you plan on expanding the size of the machine.
