It is OK that the bearing sits loose in the plate, but the play should not be that much and it shouldn't be falling out once assembled.

If you are not already using it, take the 8mm shim washer from your original Acme upgrade kit. Remove the new plate and bearing, then drop the 8mm shim washer onto the Acme screw and reassemble. This should correct any play.

Also, don't forget to place a Z-Axis Shim Plate on both ends, I know I did and had to do it twice.

The hole in the new plate is a loose fit. It's it's not a problem because the force on the bearing are into the plate and then the belt pulls the bearing tight. Having the loose fit really helps with the assembly.

That looks great! I know a lot of people are going to want that upgrade. I could have used it on my upgraded Shapeoko 2 when I still had it.

Awesome I just wanted to make sure before I give it a try.

The reason I decided to purchase one was to help with the clearance on my Z, so I could put my DW660 back together. Im using the Inventables aluminum mounts and the Z plate doesnt allow for full travel. From what it looks like it should clear no problem once I get this installed.

Piece of cake 15min install.
I can even reach the switch with no problem. A must for z intensive.
