Post by laserink » Tue Jan 06, 2015 4:00 pm

Hi I'm the creator of the Laserink Kickstarter project.
This project is currently the topic of the blog on the Shapeoko website written my Winston Moy.

If you are interested in a completed 2 watt laser head with software designed specifically for the SO2/SO3, you should check this out.

This package includes Laser Engraving.

Possibly, but I would need to re-evaluate my goals I am still working that day job and it has been a huge effort to manage this project.

I've already subscribed to the project. I really hope you get eno6gh subscribers as this project of yours takes care of the problems we novices /amateur cnc / hobbyists have with al the types of soft and hardware.

Thanks, For the kind words I really hope this gets off the ground. I have some great ideas for further development including support for STL files and 3D printing on the Shapeoko.

First I need to get this project off the ground :)

I have never really done the kickstarter thing so I apologize if my question is self evident. How much is the buy in and when would the item be made and shipped? I am very interested. Thank you for your time.

Would this work on the laserable sheets sold by Inventables? How does it compare to other available lasers in cost and power/performance? What about compared to a dedicated laser engraver or cutter?
