Re: Shapeoko 3 Limit Switch Kits
Thanks for the video I started a new job so I haven't touched either the printer or the Shapoko. I need to play with the temps I normally print at about 200 ish, I do have a fan, and I have been printing the same speed for 2 year. I just switched to an new filament so I need to figure out the right temp for that filament. Then it should be all good. I have a heat bed so getting parts to stick is not a problem.twforeman wrote:Oh, looking again at the your photo (on my computer and not my phone) I see that you are printing them standing up. Sorry.twforeman wrote:I print the Y pieces standing on edge. The little part that sticks out is to keep it from falling over. I also use painters tape and glue stick.
I don't turn on any bridging and my printer does a pretty good job with the large hole.
Three questions spring to mind though:
1. Are you printing at a low enough temp?
2. Do you have a cooling fan?
3. Are you printing fast enough?
Re: Shapeoko 3 Limit Switch Kits
Tim is making a great product I received my kit about a week ago and finally had a chance to install it last night. It was very easy to put on and took far less time than I expected. It is working great.
One question I do have is when my z axis hits the limit switch it drops my spindle all the way down to the waste board. Can anyone tell me what setting(s) I need to change to correct this?

Do you have the springs on the Z axis?
There is no setting to change that I'm aware of. When you hit a limit switch Grbl de-energizes all the motors. This can cause the Z to drop. The springs are supposed to keep that from happening.
Maybe chamnit can enlighten us.

Maybe my springs are too weak - when my machine is shut off the endmill rest about 1/2-1" above the waste board.twforeman wrote:Do you have the springs on the Z axis?

Re: Shapeoko 3 Limit Switch Kits
I have just listed 4 Limit Switch Kits in my Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/twforeman
However there is a catch.
I'm going on vacation on the 5th of July and will be putting my store on vacation as of the 1st. I would not be able to ship any orders that are placed after the 1st due to the holidays.
So if you want a kit, you need to order it in the next couple of days.
Kits will be available again in August.

Re: Shapeoko 3 Limit Switch Kits
No video AFAIK (guess we need to get a kit to Winston Moy somehow).
Installation is straight-forward though, and the instruction .pdf is short and to the point.
