Done and done. Looking forward to getting these in. Just hold the belt drive kit and ship all at once if that saves you some coin since one is a pre-req for the other.

Thanks for putting them together!

Any chance of moving to an anti-backlash nut solution, ala http://openbuildspartstore.com/anti-bac ... ead-screw/

Best,
Sam

I have tried a variety of anti backlash nuts and other solutions.

They all work to some degree but the real problem is flex in the structure of the S2. The tiny bit of backlash that can be eliminated is nothing compared to the flex in the X and Z axis.

That being said, If you want to use the open builds anti backlash nut, buy one, send it to me and I will re-tap it for 3/8 ACME and send it back to you free of charge. The 8mm threaded rod actually makes a pretty good starter hole for the 3/8" ACME.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Both about being excited and holding shipping until both are available.

Hmm. I know the anti-backlash nut made a difference in my z-axis on my basically stock SO2 z-axis setup (though the rest of the machine is stiffer). I've moved to a stiffer z-axis (basically a similar setup to what you were running on your classified machine, 8020 z-axis, 8x v-wheels etc.), so I am sure it will be even more noticeable without it. Does add a fair amount of friction to the system however.

Can I order for a slightly longer length (16in) length?

I can make custom length screws in either single or 4 start versions. PM or email me for more info.

It has 4 thread paths on the screw instead of just one. If you are running a high torque motor you can increase your speed x4 without spinning your motor faster and losing that torque.
