Wide GT2 belt, drive pulleys, and toothed idler pulleys.

Post by DRobs86 » Sat Mar 26, 2016 3:11 pm

I have a lot of 9mm wide GT2 belt, 20 tooth pulleys for 5mm shaft stepper motors, and 20 toothed idler pulleys with a 5mm inside diameter.

Belt is just 4.75 per meter. This is the wide belt.

I also have the drive pulleys for this belt, 20 tooth, GT2 profile. These drive pulleys are made for the wider belt. Each pulley has 2 set screws. The belt mating surface is 11mm wide and the total width is about 19.6mm. These drive pulleys are 3.50 each.

I also have toothed idler pulleys for 9mm wide GT2 belt. The bore is 5mm. The belt mating surface is 11mm wide and the total width is 14mm. These pulleys are 4.00 each.

Shipping within the US is a flat 3 dollars no matter how much you order.

All prices are in USD. I take PayPal only.

Keep in mind that the bore on the pulleys is 5mm. This shaft size is mostly foundbin NEMA17 steppers.

No. I am looking at building one in the coming months that will list everything I have. Right now I just have a big project underway that is taking up most of my time.

Did you need pics of any of the items or something of that nature?

I would like to get everything I need to upgrade to the 9MM belts on by Shapeoko 3. Do you have the loop and open belts ? Do you have a website to purchase from?

Thanks

BigSabu:

Thanks for the inquiry. I don't have a website. We would just decide what you want here, total the price, then you could paypal me that amount. If that doesn't work for you, I could create an eBay listing for the items since I sell there already. I'd rather not give eBay a commission if I didn't have to, though, and checkout would be through PayPal anyway.

I just have the open belt, not the closed loop belt. Also be advised that these pulleys are 5mm bore. If you are running NEMA 23s you may have a 6.35mm or 8mm bore. I wish I could be more helpful on what exactly is needed for an SO3 upgrade, but I run a custom machine, not an Shapeoko. I'm afraid that I can't tell you exactly what pieces you need for that specific upgrade on an SO3.

This link may be useful to you:

Also, I hit up the wiki because I was curious. It looks like an SO3 runs mostly 6.35 bore pulleys:

I left up my notes on when I did this on the wiki: http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/ ... dams#B.O.M.

My application isn't for a Shapeoko machine. I'm scratch building a new machine and deciding whether or not to use drive belts or lead screws. By the time I decide that, your website might be operational.

Tnx,

Ok, so it's only the X and Y axis belts that are upgraded to 9MM?
I got the last batch of "skinny belts" on my SO3 serial #1414 in late Jan 2016
Does anyone know what serial number "Phat Belt" started at?
Also, has anyone fitted the GT3 9mm belts by chance?

Thanks

Yes, there isn’t room under the Z-axis plate for a wider belt there.

Presumably Carbide 3D knows, but they haven’t been forthcoming about that sort of thing.

People have used GT3 belts on X-Carves, but no real specifics beyond some positive posts on the Inventables forums. OpenBuilds sells them, so presumably they’re used on the Ox and such variants, but a 4x decrease in positioning accuracy seems a lot to give up.
