Autodesk Fusion 360 $25 / 12 months from Amazon

Post by WillAdams » Tue Jul 12, 2016 4:37 pm

May be a Prime Day special, or perhaps is a change in pricing:

The Amazon listing says "$25 per 12 months", but Autodesk's own website says "$300 annually at $25 per month for 12 months". So, I'd be careful with this one. It's either a scam listing, or it's just a really bad typographic error, imho.

This is the only place that I would be comfortable with purchasing F360 for commercial use...

According to Autodesk's own website, you can still use Autodesk Fusion 360 for FREE if you are a hobbiest or startup making under $100,000 USD per year while using F360.

Click on the (i) icon under "STARTUPS AND HOBBYISTS" to see this text:
"After you download your free trial, click on the trial countdown number (X days) next to your user name on the upper right navigation. You’ll then see an option to register for a free 1-year startup license.
A free 1-year startup license is available for hobbyists, enthusiasts, makers, and emerging businesses that make less than US$100,000 in revenue per year. At the end of 1 year, you can reselect the startup entitlement or transition to a commercial entitlement. See Terms of Service: Autodesk Web Services Entitlements."

There are people in the reviews today complaining about not getting a license, so I'm leaning towards mistake.

Or mistake/misunderstanding. My apologies for mentioning it.

Sorry if that sounded like a rebuke, Will. I wasn't trying to chide. :)

Anyway, it looks like they've already corrected the mistake. Now it correctly says "$300.00/12 months (12-Month Plan) after 30 days". There's also a new demo option that is separate from the payment options, which is something that I wish more software developers would do.

Seems to me they could have advertised that a bit better.

It's free for students, enthusiasts, hobbyists, and startups.

From their page:

Access the same design software used by industry leaders worldwide. A free 3-year license is available for students, teachers, and academic institutions.

A free 1-year startup license is also available for hobbyists, enthusiasts, makers, and emerging businesses that make less than US$100,000 in revenue per year. At the end of 1 year, you can reselect the startup entitlement or transition to a commercial entitlement.
