Forum search does not allow common terms

Post by levlandau2 » Tue Jul 03, 2012 7:16 pm

When I search for common phrases (e.g. stepper motors), the search says the words will be ignored because they are too common. This makes it impossible to add those key words to the search.....

Can this be fixed?

I have the same frusterations...I end up using google as a work around (ie search for: "site:shapeoko.com/forum/, <search terms>")

Yes, google is an alternative. Even terms such as "buildlog" are too common to be used for a search....

just to let you know i tried "edwards fault" and that was a good search term but no results were returned. So i guess that it is not edwards fault.

Forum search does not allow common terms

I'm pleased that didn't return any results! Although, I wouldn't be surprised if it did. For the many faults of the project, I am probably to blame for nearly all of them! Luckily, it appears as thought they are either not documented or not tagged correctly :-)

I'll look into what the story is with search terms. If all else fails I'll use some of my regex skillz! STAND BACK!!

Problem solved. No regEx skillz required.
