New window/tab when click on link

Many of the great answers provided here come with some kind of link, e.g. "You can find that answer at http://www.theanswer.com. Currently when you click on that link, that site is in the window where the Shapeoko Forum was. I like to re-read the question in the Shapeoko Forum then look at the answer linked to page and in some cases go back and forth between the pages. Short term memory ain't what it used to be. :D

I would like the software to open another window when I click on a link. Actually a new tab. In the "Edit Global Settings" a question could be added, "Follow links in a new window? Y/N?"

I hope that's clear enough so that a smart person can figure it out.

Is this a feature of PhpBB that just needs to be enabled by the administrator, or are you requesting a new feature in the forum software?

Not sure about your browser, but, in Chrome, you can scroll-wheel click on the link to open it in a new tab. On my laptop, clicking the left and right buttons of the trackpad simultaneously also does the same thing.

OK now I just feel stupid, my usual condition I'm afraid. :D In Firefox, scroll-wheel click gets me an new tab. This is all I wanted.

Hey, Thanks for the the info on the scroll-click. I'm going to try it everywhere!

I like to do the same thing when using a large monitor.
- Open 1 window and snap to the left half of screen (windows button + left arrow)
- Open another and snap to the right (windows button + right arrow)

If you're looking to pop open a whole new window from the browser, you can shift+click (at least in chrome) and it'll get you there.

I learn new things. Shift-click indeed opens a new window, and Control-click opens a new tab (same as scrollwheel click).
