All text is oblique after installing Lucida Grande Oblique

Post by WillAdams » Wed Feb 18, 2015 11:14 pm

There's a sale on the fonts: http://lucidafonts.com/fonts/family/lucida-grande

After installing them, all the text is oblique:

Any way to adjust for a font w/ regular, italic and oblique?

Do you have regular Lucida Grande installed too?

Also, most browsers have preferences for the fonts used. In firefox this is inside the "Content" tab, you can choose the font there.

What browser are you running?

Not uninstalling the new toy.

Using Firefox but the Sans font there is set to Arial --- Internet Explorer exhibits the same behaviour.

Looks as if .content (only) calls out Lucida Grande:

.content {
font-size: 11pt;
line-height: 14pt;
margin-bottom: 1em;
font-family: "Lucida Grande", "Trebuchet MS", Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
overflow: hidden;
}

I'll see if the same thing happens in Mac OS X and then determine where to file the bug report

One more thing to try to isolate out the installer (if any).

Uninstall the fonts. Make sure things are normal again.

Install the fonts manually by double clicking on each font file.

The fonts were provided as loose .zip files.

Testing here at work shows things working fine in Mac OS X in Chrome, Safari and Firefox, so it looks to be a bug in Windows font handling (imagine that).

I guess I'll try to find the time to try them in Vista and we can see if it's a new or an old bug.
