Foredom handpiece

Anybody have one of these?

Is there an easy way of adapting these with a DC motor via belt drive.
Main thing about it is either changing the main shaft to be able to mount a pulley at the end or place something in the end with a pulley.

I have a couple of these, but there's no "dead simple" way to mount these to a pulley. They are made for a flex shaft interconnect, and the internal spindle is recessed almost 1-inch from the outer rim of the casing.

That said, I use it for a spindle on another CNC, and it works pretty well. Minimal runout, and up to 1/4" bits. Having the motor attached via flexshaft is an OK idea. The CNC mechanism has less weight to handle, but the motor and shaft can deflect the handpiece slightly. I have my motor mounted 3' above the CNC work area, and it seems to minimize that effect.
