I haven't tried it myself, but there is a cambam plugin for drag knife compensation. I'm curious how well it works. I've been thinking about getting one of these cutters but haven't seen one locally yet.

It could just be an issue with the knife not being in the best position. It has to be almost perfectly 'on axis'.

The little Sillohette Studio cutter I've got, the knife looks like it is perfectly aligned, though I know it must be fractionally behind the dragging point so it can be pivoted by the xy movement.

I've been looking for the cricut cutters that supposedly are sold at WalMart. I should just get one on their website... And I've seen the Donek cutter in action at MakerFaire and it was pretty sweet. The guy in the videos was there cutting out foam airplanes all day long. Fairly expensive though... I think he was using SheetCAM.

You might want to look for a local fabric or craft store. Here in NC there are several chain stores, Michaels, A.C. More, JoAnns fabrics and others. Many of those stores sell the Cricket and the Silhouette and should have replacement blades. Other option is to try Amazon, it may be cheaper there.
