TinyG First Time Use... Error on setup???

Post by LTMNO » Mon May 27, 2013 7:39 pm

I am not sure, but I checked the wiki for TinyG and this error doesn't seem to come up anywhere.

I have a brand new TinyG, first time booted as I was waiting for power supply.
I have installed the Drivers for my Mac.
I connect to the TinyG, it boots and I get this error.

It appears that the unit has bad memory?

I reset it and the same occurs.

Has anyone seen this?

Also, the LED beside the Spindle CW/CCW is flashing Red.

I would try posting this on the TinyG forum, they are usually pretty quick to respond there and are good at working through problems. I have a TinyG and have really liked how it has been working so far, stick with it!

just to update, Riley was very quick to get a new one out to me after debugging....
Controller received and the new TinyG works, just working on the configuration part when I get some time.
Slowly but surely....

Okay, now that i have things moving... Here is my new problem.

Strange thing, I have the A Mapped to Y for Motor 4 to 2 and when i have them both connected the y-axis is fighting itself. or it seems that one motor is moving faster than the other.
So i did some testing and disconnected one motor and tested it and then connected the other and tested it.
I did a simple advance of 200mm and this is what happen.

Motor 4(A)
tinyg [mm] ok>
posy:29.272,vel:16000.000,stat:5
posy:95.363
posy:160.133
posy:199.999,vel:66.112
posy:200.000,vel:0.000,stat:3
tinyg [mm] ok>
posy:177.192,vel:15586.781,stat:5
posy:111.246,vel:16000.000
posy:46.477
posy:0.188,vel:1057.847
posy:0.000,vel:0.000,stat:3

Motor 2(Y)

tinyg [mm] ok>
posy:-3.320,vel:5966.943,stat:5
posy:-62.318, vel:16000.000
posy:-127.087
posy:-190.834,vel:11768.594
posy:-200.000,vel:0.000,stat:3
tinyg [mm] ok>
posy:-199.926,vel:595.041,stat:5
posy:-154.866,vel:16000.000
posy:-90.097
posy:-24.087,vel:15851.239
posy:0.000,vel:0.000,stat:3

I can see that my one motor is working in reverse and I was trying to fix that with polarity, but perhaps that is not the way. The other motor which is on (A) is acting like it should and moving from front to back in the Positive manner.

I assume if I can fix the action of Motor Y(2) then this might fix the problem if there is not velocity/speed issue.

Thanks.

Exciting to see the machine move.

It's what's always been suggested / documented in the wiki:

For what it's worth, polarity is how I fixed this with my TinyG setup. My Y axis is motors 2 and 3 and I have these settings:

$2po=0

$3po=1

Alternatively, WillAdams' recommendation will work as well.

Good luck!

Thanks for the posts, I was able to do exactly as you all recommended. It seems that the default config of the TinyG is to have X on M1 and Y on 2&3 and Z on 4
I have my Y on 4 and Z on 3. So i had to configure the parameters accordingly.... all working now, Still haven't figured out how to get the Hello World yet.... just haven't had the time to try it out and read up on it. ;(
