Draws images fine but the Y axis is inverted

Post by antennas » Tue May 21, 2013 7:24 pm

Good day folks I Just recently found the Grbl and Shapeoko. I have a question for you.
I am using Grbl 0.8c and everyone says the way to invert an axis is to use $7 and input your numbers. Well on mine it says in the dump when you $$, that it is on $6 not $7 and it indeed works that way. I can invert my axis using the $6 option.

All that anyway to say that if I have my machine control panel working right, ie X+ moves to the right and X- to the left. But Y+ will make it move down instead of up like it should. When I have it so the buttons are correct it inverts the text, and the Y axis is backwards.

Graphics is Inkscape and the Gcode is Universal Gcode Sender 1.06 , works really well.

I realize I am just missing something easy or whatever, because I have about 2 days of using this so far.

Can someone enlighten me please?

Nice forums, thanks in advance.

If you swap one pair of the wires on the y motor it will fix the problem.
If your order is a1,a2,b1,b2 then change it to a2,a1,b1,b2.
Shapeoko #Classified some of the bolts may be original parts.
Shapeoko 1 # ???? Stainless plates, still in the box.
Shapeoko 2 # 3926 not stock
Shapeoko 3 # 0003
