hi,

I'm trying to "pause" my machine so I can change the tool.
I'm using GRBL version 0.8A with Motor lock enhancement from Atomsoft.

My machine doesn't shows any difference with using the G04 code. (I think that's the DWELL command code?

for eg.:

X50 Y50 ---> machine goes 5 cm to the right and back.
Z30 ---> Move the Z 30 mm up.
G4 ---> DWELL/PAUSE
Z0 ---> Lower the Z 30 down.
X0 Y0 ---> go back to home position.

In the above example my machine seems to skip the G4 command, but doesn't show any errors.

I don't know whats wrong, if anybody knows please help

ah, Found it.

It was just a matter of beter reading this thread ;-)

the machine works with the following g-code file:

X50 Y50 ---> machine goes 5 cm to the right and back.
Z30 ---> Move the Z 30 mm up.
G4 = P120 ---> 2 minutes pause
Z0 ---> Lower the Z 30 down.
X0 Y0 ---> go back to home position.

It even works with this g-code file:

X50 Y50 ---> machine goes 5 cm to the right and back.
Z30 ---> Move the Z 30 mm up.
G4 = P120 ---> 2 minutes pause
! ----> Stops the shapeoko until it receives the ~ keystroke.
Z0 ---> Lower the Z 30 down.
X0 Y0 ---> go back to home position.

Now I have to find out, how to easy re-home the Z-as, after a tool change.
