Help with Chilipeppr - premature stopping of program

Post by TomBend » Thu Oct 29, 2015 3:22 am

I have setup my xcarve and have begun using chilipeppr to import code for a few simple programs and when I input the code, it will only run a few lines and then stop.

After running this code, it give the error code of: expected command letter
It stops running at x11.625
Using the Grbl workspace in chilipeppr.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure you are using the correct JSON serial port server file for your OS. I need to use an older version for my windows version.

You may want to post the question on the googlegroups space for Chilipeppr.

Reading your code seems as your machine might crash when going down...

A G0 command tells the machine to move in straight line at rapid speed, so every line when you define a G0 Z-1.0 F30.0 the machine is moving to -1 at rapid speed. I would suspect that the F is being ignored since a G0 command does not use it but im not certain that the parser ignores it o sends an error code. Also, since F command is persistant, only one time is needed to be defined in your code (You would need to define it again if you would want to change feedrate but since its the same throughout your code its ok for this case). I would suspect that the code could run as you posted it but maybe theres something im not seeing.

You could try the following code, i just modified the G0 to G1 and deleted all but the first F command because it is the same every time you go down ( just please note that im now responsible for anything that could happen to your machine) you could try it first at a safety height higher that 1in and "cut air" before you actually try it on a piece.
