New TinyG aluminium enclosure

Post by PsyKo » Sun Jul 28, 2013 8:59 pm

Hello folks,

I just spent a few days designing and creating the new enclosure for my future TinyG controller.
It's full aluminium, and build using 4 10x10mm extruded rails. All the panels have been milled using my Shapeoko.

The hole in the front panel is designed to have a front panel. It's been milled as well but it's not shown on the pictures.

First tests with chamfers. Home switches really helped a lot :)

Awesome!:)

A bit hard to get an overview as the pictures are kind of too big for my screen, but to me this looks as good as it gets..
Very nice work!

Excellent!!! Tu as utiliser quoi comme alu? Du 7075-T6 en 5mm? Et tu l'as usiner avec ta Shapeoko?

Translation: Nice !!! What alloy did you use ? 5mm 7075-T6 ? Milled with the Shapeoko ?

Yes it was completely milled using the Shapeoko (tuned shapeoko 1 in my case).
I'm not sure about the alloy since I used some scrap piece of aluminium. I know some were very soft and melt during process and some other (probably 2017/au4g) milled without issue.
