Starwars chalkboard

Post by Marty » Tue Dec 30, 2014 11:01 pm

Hi!
Due to a new-years party where we have a secret-santa-gift-exchange i started a little project.
The idea was to paint over a white-ish type of wood and engrave the paint using the shapeoko.
The kind of paint i used was chalk-board paint. (for those who don't know it, it's paint to apply on wood/walls to create the same characteristics as a chalk-board. you can write on it with crayons and remove the crayon powder with a wettened piece of cloth/sponge)

all in all i had to do some different attempt to get used to the pattern/spindle/paint and wood. The end result however looks awesome in my opinion. Guess what it represents :) hint the guy my present is for is a big star wars fan.

The total plate (chalkboard) is around 320x570 (mm)
let me know what you think!
