Shapeoko electronics enclosure and a bookshelf

Post by jhllt67 » Sun Jul 22, 2012 8:31 pm

Hey guys finally got my dual drive set up (I used a drive shaft, might make a post about it later) and the shapeoko is running great.

Here are a couple of projects I messed around with this weekend.
First is an enclosure for the power supply, arduino, cut-off switch etc.

Not populated yet, I actually have to cut another one because I accidentally made it about 1/8" to small for the power supply.
Made out of 5mm sanded birch plywood.

Next is just an interesting idea I had for a mini book shelf.

Made out of 3/8" rough plywood, just a prototype for now. I'm gonna add one more level but that seems to be the stability limit for this design.
No glue or fasteners yet, I just made the slots about .01" undersize, seems to work pretty well.

Here it is on the test bed.

Hi,

These are great projects, I really like your book shelf design.
Also definitely post something about your dual drive shaft set-up.

Awesome! Also interested in the drive-shaft setup.

LOVE the bookshelf idea. Did you increase the size of the Shapeoko?

Hey thanks guys. I'll definitely make a post about the drive shaft when I get home for the week. Probably Wednesday.

And yeah I did extend the Y axis to 1200mm. You may be able to fit it on a standard Shapeoko if you go corner to corner. I think the brace is about 12 inches long.
