Very impressive indeed!

That zoom ring just cries to be motorized, though.

WoW. Thanks. At the moment, there are no plans for the zoom. That's the whole point of the slider. It can be used as a dolly, or pushes. I am however, going to be doing a focus via servo, but that is a few steps away. That is going to involve some half inch aluminum which will be milled, cut, then drilled and tapped to clamp onto 15mm rails. That's also where I will do my first attempt at some sort of finger tightening knobs. Sounds goofy, but I am really looking forward to that. It's something I have wanted to try for a while. But I am doing pretty good job of keeping the horse in front of the cart for once. I have seen some nifty projects with zoom rings being use for star trails, but I am not a fan of zoom as a part of my cinematography. But, like any projects when you start getting the add ons and accessories towards the end of a project who knows, there might be all sorts of stupid things added to this. Heh heh. Like I said, it's been fun. Frustrating, but fun.
