the lens took 3~4 minutes, the aluminum took like an hour or hour and a half. there are some spots that i could speed things up too. could probably get it down to an hour even.HPGreyling wrote:Looks really good!! How long did the job take?
i absolutely love it. you can control every aspect of the machining process. and once you get used to it and start making your own process libraries/styles you can get new projects up and running very fast. i used the trial for over a year and a half cause i never turn my computer off unless im installing new hardware or doing updates. and it's only 150 if you do decide to buy it. some times i'll even do the design in it if it's simple like a series of holes. and it runs on my old tablet with no problems.UltiArjan wrote:Nice!
As I'm a beginner, still on the look for my prefered CAM software, how do you like CAMBAM ? any pro's / con's ?
Try MeshCAM if you're used to a 3d printing workflow, each option is defined on their page succinctly and helped me make my first 3d hard parts through the trial. I'm biased because I use a Mac and there aren't a lot of options, but I also tried Cambam, makercam and the list on a Windows 10 laptop to make sure I wasn't missing out. I'll tackle Fusion360 eventually, but again, MeshCAM seemed really intuitive coming from a 3d printing world, coupled with Camotics for workflow visualization.UltiArjan wrote:Nice!
