Kid's Chair and Table

Post by MidCitySlim » Mon May 02, 2016 6:24 pm

I adapted my set based on the Instructables below, but used the SO3 to cut out the bear and all the dado joints. Also gave the little guy his name on the back rest and filled it in with colored epoxy.

Just my two cents...
My cousin loves his leap frog activity table. I got it for $30 on ebay - best $30 i ever spent!! biggrin.gif
He is 9 months old and has had it for about 3 months, he loves standing at it and moving all the bits, and he sits down beside it and without looking reaches up and spins the rolling thingy! lol
He can walk around it now and had even more fun, and pulls himself up to play with it. It is definatly the most used toy of the millions he has!!
We also have the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Learning Table - and I was only saying to my DH today that it was the best $'s that we ever spent - our DD is 9 months and she has had it since she was 6 months, she plays with it every single say without fail (in fact today she used it to pull herself to standing).

I purchased this one based on EB reviews - one of the major deciding factors for me was that it had removable legs, which a lot of them dont, so it became a floor toy as well.

Sorry for the late post, I don't seem to get to this as often these days!!!!

Hi there,

I've never actually thought about making stuff for kids (until I had my own kids :) ). And the first items I planned to make were the toys obviously: here's the kite reel I tried to make (I contacted the guy who made this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afK4RLbRgZw and he sent me the doc). I know that Ronald is selling wooden laser cut cars (his plywood car - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qWX132WNDY on Youtube), but I want to make something myself.

You the best, like the job you have done with the kid's chair and table, mine it's too young to sit on this type of chair's, but I really want him to always have the best places where he can start drawing, learn writing, and when will be more adult I will get him the best computer with the best gaming chair brand, and maybe will start play games together.
Can you please tell me with what type of paint and how you made the text to be so beautiful and clean. Did you cut the form on a piece of cardboard and after just paint it over?
