People who tie fishing lures use lots of little shallow dishes to hold the various building components. A friend turns, by hand, each bowl so each bowl is a little different. He asked if I could engrave a trout in the bottom. The outcome wasn't earth shattering other than the fact the height variation across the engraving was over 3.9 mm. The bowl diameter is about 75mm, 3 inches. I used auto leveling in bCNC to manage the height variation. Adds complication to the engraving process, but the results are excellent.
