Mach3 or LinuxCNC
Mach3 or LinuxCNC
Is Mach3 easier to set up than LinuxCNC. Is it worth the $175. Trying to find more information on both. It would be nice to see some Videos on setting these up but that seems to be almost impossible for LinuxCNC.

Re: Mach3 or LinuxCNC
If you run your Shapeoko with Windows, then Mach3 is the best. I've used it on a few CNC routers in the past and I really like it, plus the community is great. If you run Linuz or are using a dedicated computer for the Shapeoko, I'd say use LinuxCNC.
I'm getting mine running on LinuxCNC using Machinekit and a Beaglebone Black. I haven't spent much time on it lately but I have all the components now.

Re: Mach3 or LinuxCNC
I am good with either one.. I actually have a dedicated machine now just for the CNC. Learning Linux is all new.. Trying to access my home network for files is proving to be quite a challenge as not knowing Linux. So I am right now a bit undecided how I feel about it. I would love to learn Linux but time is a luxury.... Where I know windows. Pro is linuxCNC is free.. Mach3 is not.
