In the past, this had to be a full-fledged computer system which ran a G-Code interpreter, attached via specialized hardware directly controlling the machine (e.g., Mach3 or LinuxCNC), instead a Shapeoko uses a [[Arduino|Microcontroller Microcontroller (an Arduino)]]) running [[Grbl] (a G-Code interpreter) attached to the machine via a [[gShield] and controlled by a computer system running a [[Communication / Control]] program such as [[Universal Gcode Sender]].

My pleasure.

Please let me know if there's anything else which you find confusing or hard to pick up on or which you can't find --- that's how the wiki improves.

I've re-read and re-edited it a couple of times. Hopefully it's clear enough now, but still concise enough to serve as a reasonable overview.
