$40 is less than what it actually costs. For an 8 kg package, I'd pay £47 ($76 US) from the UK to Australia, and that's without insurance and using the cheapest possible service, which involves a local courier to a depot in the UK, followed by their choice of courier (usually DHL to Australia, but can be UPS, FedEx etc). A direct service is $100 US or so, and even that is a heavily discounted rate available only though a third party, without insurance. Direct with FedEx or UPS is way more. So, not pretty, but the $120 price is probably what Inventables pay.

If memory serves, Inventables lost quite a bit of money on shipping (international?) for one of the early ShapeOko batches.

HI..

You need to watch postage cost, they charged me $80.00 US but it showed $39.00 US and not insured on the shipping notice.
So I would be getting a quote.

I had used Gold Coast courier service for sending my bicycle from Australia to UK. They charged very reasonable and also provided fastest services. Before sealing with their services, I checked their post and pricing guides for a summary of postage rates and charges. I opted them after feeling satisfied.

Wow! That’s expensive! Thank god Courier services Ft Worth is pocket friendly. It took me a lot of time to finally settle down with one courier company and I finally got one which is affordable and completely reliable. I am grateful I found it, you must also look for something like this.
