FYI: Aluminum spacers source (US)

Post by dave_the_nerd » Thu Apr 14, 2016 5:07 am

I was building/planning my latest project, and ran into a problem - couldn't find aluminum spacers anywhere. The local big box store had 3 of the size I needed 48 of, or 9 if I wanted nylon. They're hard to find in bulk.

So after a bit of searching, I stumbled across this site; thought I'd share, in case anybody was modifying their machine and needed more spacers. They have just about every size imaginable.

The name seems a bit obvious in hindsight.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that's where the aluminum spacers used in the kits come from --- a couple of them use exactly the same part number.

Also, they're listed on the Vendors page: http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/ ... are_stores

and as purchase links for the Spacers entries on the Parts Overview page: http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/Parts#Spacers

I have bought aluminum spacers at McMaster-Carr. If you have never been to their site... they have almost everything you might need.

Still looking for a left handed smoke shiftier and Red-White-Blue striped Spray paint. But most everything else I've found on McMaster Carr.
