Shipping to Canada

Post by Efay » Mon Jan 01, 2018 11:01 pm

Hi,

I'm interested in purchasing a Shapeoko Xl, but looking at the shipping method (FEDEX and UPS) scares me as I have been burnt by them in he past.
So just wondering for those who have purchased one and had it shipped to Canada, how much did the hidden charges come to ? I also assume since its made in the US there are no duties to be paid, was that the case? . Any others methods used (such as shipping to a US town close to the border and driving down to pick it up? )

Any information you can provide on your experience or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

The community tried to track these numbers for a while, but it was wildly variable based on the vagaries of a given customs agent.

One recent discussion on reddit indicates $100--120:
