Feature Request: Cut-in / Cut-out at top/middle

Post by Thormj » Tue Jan 02, 2018 11:31 pm

I'm putting together my MaslowCNC machine... and since everything is hung by gravity, I had a thunk:
If you could put the "cut in/cut out/z changes" in the top/center, I'd almost never need tabs (the material would fall away from the bit).

Interesting idea --- how do you keep the machine from falling through any holes?

The router mounts on a large sled (ideally, with roundovered edges) to hopefully glide along without falling in). I've just started my build so I don't know all the ins and outs yet -- if you cut a big hole, you're still going to need tabs to prevent it from tipping in, but when cutting "the frame bits" all the pieces are smaller than the sled (except "the final" sled... so I'm going to cut that one first, round it over, and then cut the rest).
