E-Stop and Limit switch inputs

Post by Joe_C » Mon May 11, 2015 10:23 pm

Hello all; The S3 wiki did not seem to know if the E-Stop switch would work with out specific programming. Without changing the Carbide 3D grbl, I wired up an e-stop and it released the motor drivers and the Carbide program reported "cycle aborted". I also experimented with a limit switch. I did have to change $21 parameter equal "1" from within the MDI window for limit to trigger. I also discovered that for Carbide 3d software accepted arrow keys for jogging x/y axis and <> jogged the z axis. I'm sorry if this is generally understood already.

P.S. the limit switch input appears to be 3 volt logic. If wiring in a hall effect switch, it's level should match ,unless the input is 5 volt tolerant. Perhaps a designer could chime in about this point.
