My first Shapeoko 3 Thing. Wasteboard Cut for T-nuts

Post by kristenanne77 » Mon Jun 29, 2015 12:31 am

From experience, i know a good wasteboard will save me hours of setup time, so my first project wast to cut holes for T-nuts in a MDF board which i will screw on to the ShapeOko support board.

I cut a recessed pocket for the wide base so the nut so it would not "stick out" of the bottom. Then after the recessed pocket, center holes were drilled through each pocket. the nice 6 x 7 grid was done with ShapeOko. The holes around the edge were out of the machines reach so I did those by hand. The T nut does not go completely to the top of board. The top of the T nut is about 1/4 inch from the top.

Attached are pics of top and bottom. I made a video of Shapeoko cutting the holes and will hopefully get around to post it next week.i know ...boring.
