Molex Connectors crimp pins for the stepper mottors
Does anyone know what crimp pins are used for the stepper motors? I made a cable chain for my unit and had to disconnect the wires from the molex connector to fish them through the chain.
unfortunately a few connectors wouldn't pop back in/broke. I ended up ordering the smaller ones listed on the wiki (http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/e ... 4-ND/26475) but I'm thinking those were for 2 pin-connectors as they are to small..... whomp whomp. I looked for molex KK .2" rectangular connectors but didn't find any.

They are these Molex connectors: http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDet ... 08-50-0106

Unfortunately a little late for your X-axis extrusion wiring but if you also do a cable chain for the Y-Axis then you might want to go with an open chain. I've been printing off the following open chain pieces that I created by modifying a cable chain I found on thingiverse.
Getting the snap in closure the right size takes some playing around and then I switched slicers halfway through and had do the playing around again. So far I'm about a third of the way through printing off the chain I'll use for my USB and power cables on the right Y extrusion.

Awesome! Thanks for the tips!
I will look into those cable chains as that is way more convenient.... that and I'm not a fan of the yellow on yellow

Here's a link to an IGES file of the cable segment I'm using. You should be able to load it into your 3D CAD package and modify as needed. I've been using Fusion 360.

Because of the small tolerances I've found that I needed to play with the closure piece to get it to fit without distorting the main segment body. Took me a half dozen tries to get it to fit. I've also been using ABS so it has a bit of flex to snap the pieces together without breaking them.

Thanks! I will give it a try. I use NX so IGS is perfect.swhillier wrote:Here's a link to an IGES file of the cable segment I'm using. You should be able to load it into your 3D CAD package and modify as needed. I've been using Fusion 360.

Also your prints look MINT!

Here was the response I got from Jorge on the support side on the connectors
"Here's the digikey part number for those pins: WM2303-ND
If you need the connector: WM2113-ND"

Thanks. I finished the cable chain up and posted a picture with links to the design files on the Fusion 360 public share here: http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7883lorenolepi wrote: Thanks! I will give it a try. I use NX so IGS is perfect.

These parts worked mint!

Sir, I see you have a nice dust shoe in the photo.
Could you tell me where I can find one like this?
Of course if you don't mind.
Thank You,
