Adjusting the router height

Post by johnelle » Tue Apr 18, 2017 4:31 pm

I found that my Dewalt router fits in the mounting clam so tightly that it is almost impossible to move even a little let alone dismount it to use as a router. I had to take one of my free allen wrenches and wedge it into the crack to pry it apart enough to make an adjustment. Looks like this might actually damage the metal if I continue doing it this way.

How are folks dealing with this? Should pull the mount off the carriage and "adjust" it by prying it open further?

Most folks have used a large screwdriver to make that adjustment. Any such damage would be cosmetic. I managed to find a small pry bar which fit in-between, and when it dinged the metal, did so along the hidden flat surfaces.
