remove spindle mount easily

Post by drummer412 » Thu Jun 08, 2017 5:37 pm

I noticed that one of the screws holding my spindle mount in place is loose. I should have used loctite. Shame on me. How do I remove the spindle mount from the z carriage plate as easily as possible? I am not as handy as many of you when it comes to this stuff. If there is a diagram, feel free to point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

This is a really tight, compact assembly.

Most expedient thing seems to be:

- slacken the Z-axis belt tension
- release the two springs
- run the carriage down off the bottom (careful not to nick the V-wheels against the Z-axis extrusion)
- re-tighten (with Loctite if inclined)

reverse the steps

Or you can try to run the Z axis down so the Spindle mount screw is accessible below the X axis plate, add loctite and tighten.
