Programming 2.4d Board

Post by apspurgeon » Mon Oct 31, 2016 7:00 pm

Hi all

I have upgraded my early machine with a v2.4d board.

I could find much (any) info on it and was having trouble uploading grbl, and new config.h.
It wouldn't upload with either Arduino or XLoader and was getting an avrdude communication error.
"avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding"

There is a button under the large (new) filtering caps on the board, it has PROG in small letters next to it.
When you press it, the blue LED lights.

I had to press, and HOLD the button while you upload....e.g keep it held down until the upload is complete.
I assume this is the same for other recent board (e.g v2.3).

Might be helpful for others...

Yeah, there was a discussion about that this summer. Very obscure and not at all documented. I believe this button was new for the 2.4 boards.

Hopefully your post will be easier to find for others.
