Emergency Stop

Post by Shook » Sun Jan 15, 2017 11:10 pm

I got an E-Stop button from my brother-in-law (factory was tossing out that and a whole box of pneumatic parts that he thought I might be able to use for the robotics team).

I don't know if it's Normally Open or Normally Closed, but it appears to be the opposite of what the Shapeoko is expecting. When I hooked it up to the EStop pins on the shapeoko board the machine wouldn't move UNTIL the button was pushed.

Is there any way to change the setting to reverse what it's looking for in GRBL? I googled around, but I haven't been able to find anything yet.

I believe that the setting for this sort of thing is a compile time option and you'll need to recompile Grbl after suitably modifying the config files.

Please see the Grbl github pages: https://github.com/grbl/grbl/wiki/Compiling-Grbl
