original Shapeoko stepper motor specifications

Post by drmacro » Sun Nov 04, 2018 1:28 pm

Hi,

I have an early version of the Shapeoko with stepper motors labeled:

OSM
ALTN1728S87
Date: 2011 06 07

The ALTN doesn't seem to be in the current OSM catalog and emails to them have gotten crickets.
And web searches get nothing on this particular model.

It is clearly a NEMA 17 (thus the 17 in the part number?)

Figuring the wiring is no problem, but I would like to find out the voltage, current, and inductance ratings.

Anybody have any ideas?

Is the information at: https://wiki.shapeoko.com/index.php/BOM_(SO2) of help?

Thanks.

Yeah, I poked around there before. I didn't find any actual specifications.

Most of that is fro the model 2 or newer. (I think the one I have is a model 1 and there are only assembly instructions for that.

There is some discussion there of whether to choose a NEMA 17 or larger.
