Hey Edward, how did this turn out? Any final pictures? I'd really like to build something similar for my S2 and this design looks awesome. If you have any more detail on what parts you used, let me know (although I've done an OK job at guessing what parts from the pictures and comparing with the misumi website).

I've been looking into this stuff for an enclosure:

Since it's only a 15mm square profile instead of 20mm, it uses less aluminum per linear meter, and is the cheapest extrusion I've seen anywhere.

Not sure if it's strong enough to support the whole weight of the machine though, so it may need to be a separate enclosure.
