The size isn't critical, mine are around 20 x 8 x 6.3 mm and I have mounted them between the plate and makerslide (screws cut into the microswitch plastic, no nuts). Only the cable attachment is not good, would be a lot nicer if there was an additional hole in the plates for that.

On the X axis, I had to install a simple endstop (just a screw + nut in the makerslide slot). On the Y axis I could directly use the endplate because I don't use the standard belt clamps.

I think "subminiature" switches (also known as "V4") work best with the slots. Ultra-miniature will work too, especially if they have levers, but the slot is a bit wide for the M2 screws that fit those.

Process in the works for an electronics upgrade to our shapeoko 2. I have ordered a C10 breakout board from CNC4U and some Pololu DRV8825 drivers. Going get an old Desktop PC I have laying around loaded up with Linux and LinuxCNC. Looking forward to putting this all together. I am building an enclosure box to house all of my PSUs and electronics.

Ok latest update is Building out Drivers. Getting ready to run on a C10 Break out board which I am still waiting on getting here. Drivers are DRV8825 from Pololu. Going to try out LinuxCNC.
(Edit: As Mentioned. DO NOT forget to put the Cap in Parrallel on the 24V Input) Added in my Wiring Diagram

Your drawing does not include the capacitor on the motor supply (but I see there is one in the actual boards). That capacitor is essential. Without it, turning the supply on or off can burn out the drivers (due to LC ringing -- it's explained on the Pololu page).

Yeah I know. It slipped my mind to put it in the drawing was just to help me as a template putting them together Mostly as a grid as to where my wires were going. Caps are all in place as you can see in the actual Board.
