I'll be posting my build experience here. This first post will be edited as progress moves forward. Please excuse the lack of photos right now, I need to resize them for this forum.

I find the most expedient thing to do for photos is to post them to the wiki, then refer to them here using the IMG tag, selecting a suitable option --- that way one can provide a link back to the original at full resolution (and they can be recycled on the wiki for documentation, such as it is).

So does any one know why there was soldier on the board upon delivery? I mean it wouldn't short anything out, now I just need to desoldier before adding pins

where was the solder that you're referring to? Did you take a pic of it for reference?

Until I can figure out how to upload files to the wiki I can't document with directions, If you look at the url a list of photos should show up. You will need to click on the info icon to see the description. I have a wiki login, but don't think I have photo upload rights.

So in these 3 photos you can see where there was solder on prior to me soldering pins. http://imgur.com/a/eIJ0n I just found it weird to see burn marks and solder on the board before I did anything. From what I can tell the motors all work. Carbide motion won't connect. I posted about that in the assembly section. Object Works was able to connect.

Did get a test fire in.

Uploading a file is an FAQ: http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/FAQ#Wiki

(One which I had myself, the software really needs to be better designed)
How can I upload a file? --- Disclose the Toolbox Section in the sidebar and use the Upload a File link.
When I need to make a new page, I first make the link to it, preview it, then right-click on the preview to get at the new page page --- probably there’s a better, faster way, but that works for me.

If it helps, this is the page on the wiki where you upload files:
Bookmark it if you want to use it often. :)
