I should be able to use the VCarve generated gcode with the VCarve "Shapeoko (inch) (*.gcode)" post processor directly with Carbide Motion, correct? Nothing should need to be done other than zero'ing the X/Y/Z, loading gcode files one at a time, and inserting each tool as required by each of the toolpaths? I'm using VCarve Desktop 10.017, and Carbide Motion Build 4.0.416.

VCarve Desktop 10 works fine with my SO3XXL, which is stock. I use the post processor you have selected. Works fine.

I actually had to update the postprocessor (from VCarve) that includes support for M6 tool change commands. Otherwise, the Bitsetter wasn't going to work properly with gcode files that contain multiple tools.

Hi rambo2. how did you get the bitsetter to work with vCarve? Also, are you able to open CC .c2d files in Vcarve? thanks

I did get the bitsetter working with VCarve after Vetrix sent me an updated postprocessor that supports M6 gcode commands for multiple tools. I haven't tried opening CC JSON files with VCarve, but I doubt they'll work. It would be nice if the VCarve format was published like CC's JSON.

I wanted to buy VCarve Desktop but they will not allow my to try a file of my choice to try with the Shapeoko. I agreed to pay for the software up front and if it did not meet expectations with my output then I would use a different product and would like my money back. Again, a company that does not care if I am satisfied because if it did not work to my expectations then tough luck, no refund. Not asking for 30 days or anything, just wanted to see what a file of my choice worked like. I feel it is ashame that companies have to be that way when 350 bucks is a lot for a hobbyist like me.

My question is were you able to run a file of your own with the trial version through some method which I may be able to duplicate? I like the software because it feels more intuitive to me, but what good is it if it does not create the finished product that I need? Would love to know for sure so I don't waste 350 bucks.

What exactly are you trying to evaluate? I find Vetric to be very supportive. They’ve answered all my questions satisfactorily and I’ve used VCarve exclusively for Shapeoko projects.
